Unveiling an Unusual Steam Demo: Controlling a Poop in a Mission to Arrive at the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and enthusiasts have discovered plenty of entertaining indie games. Yet, one is particularly notable for its unconventional concept. Named Unko Technica, this old-school styled platformer lets you play a hero that is actually a turd attempting to navigate to a restroom. As a fun fact, "Unko" translates to "poop."

Player controls is simple: you only need a single jump button. Throughout 150 stages, battle tough enemies and visit a store to acquire skins for your poop character.

Plan your actions precisely, as a error requires beginning again. Jump using air pockets to launch your character to new heights, cross crumbling platforms, and activate switches to open hidden paths. Gather UN-KOINS and use them on more difficult levels where things intensifies.

Visually, the game features neon environments and a killer music score. The simple visual style with morphing basic polygons could recall gamers of classic titles like Earthbound.

While it's hard to recall previous releases where you control a coiled turd, gaming often included fecal matter. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, you can craft explosives from character waste. Games like Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved utilize manure as fertilizer. Naturally, such content appears extensively in the role-playing game The Stick of Truth.

Regardless of its humorous premise, Unko Technica has already received significant accolades, like taking top honors at Bandai Namco's game competition in 2023. A playable preview is available at present on Steam, with the full game set to arrive on computers in the fall.
